A Community Partner of the Girl Scouts
STEM Lego Robotics
Technology based activities for Brownies, Juniors and Cadettes.
Learn the hardware and software needed to make a robot. As part of a team building exercise, students will develop teamwork skills as each member will have a specific role in building. They will follow directions to build their robot, then program it to finish a maze. After successfully finishing the maze, they will have the opportunity to program it to do what they want. After this two hour robotics course Girl Scouts will have the option to stay and play their favorite video games for free for an hour!
Modding with Minecraft
Learn level building basics via gameplay. Students are encouraged to think critically about storytelling and engaging the user. Minecraft teaches spatial reasoning, engineering concepts, and even helps build hand-eye coordination. Activities include basic 3D design, world building concepts, custom resource pack, simple command block programming, intro to Redstone and creating custom skins. After this two hour course Girl Scouts will have the option to stay and play their favorite video games for free for an hour!
